Elkhorn History
Elkhorn was founded in 1865. It was surveyed by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1886 and was platted in 1867. It was originally named Elkhorn Station. Its first Catholic Church was established in 1868. The city was a municipality until 2005, when Omaha annexed it. It is in Douglas County, which was founded in 1854.
